Goodbye Wichita I’m heading back to my western home I’m gonna ride on the passenger side and lean my head on the radio I’m waiting for a sign from above or a rumble from down below. Take a wheel and a grip of steel to see the sky kiss the coast So lay me down, rest the ghost so lay me down my sweet road If I die now then I’ll die young So lay me down rest the ghost I feel a loss, I feel a loss, I'm yearning for a place I know (oh a place I know for us) If I'm the ghost if I'm the ghost, come and feel my body's pulse (remind me of who I was) We got the driver, we got the speed We got the metal, we got the need There's a city on the western coast That harbors whom I love the most You’ve had a long damn night, You got a ghost inside

about

The Ghost was inspired by Nat Lort-Nelson’s time on the road playing punk rock. The song is an exorcism of hard times gone by and was written as an anthem to keep his spirits high.
